PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED (PWTBS) is a young Danish design company founded in 2014 by former interiors photographer, Thomas Ibsen.

The design collection focuses on interaction, good craftsmanship, quality, materials and sustainability in terms of durable design. Each piece is a little more daring than traditional Danish design, features a graphical element and balances functionality and creativity. The small but exciting range contains pieces by some of the most interesting design practitioners working today, many who Thomas developed relationships with in his former photography career.

The complete PWTBS range of furniture, lighting and accessories is now available exclusively in Australia and Singapore at Cult.

A unique background.

Before Thomas Ibsen founded PWTBS in 2014, he worked as an interiors photographer for Wallpaper magazine for over a decade. In this role, he travelled across the globe to capture the finest interior spaces; a formative experience which he drew on to launch his own design brand.

Today, Thomas works as creative director at PWTBS, alongside CEO Peter Mahler Sørensen. Together, the duo promote the idea of future classics

Thomas shares, "Our goal is to introduce designs which have the potential of becoming classics. Before launching a new design, we always ask ourselves: Will this design in its entirety, become a long lasting object, we someday can pass on to our children?"

Heritage headquarters.

Located in Copenhagen's oldest neighbourhood, the PWTBS headquarters are nestled just behind the historic Queen's Castle.

Behind the name.

"Our name sums up who we are; polite people with a keen interest in interior, with a sense of humor and both feet firmly on the ground. It's a memorable name and connected to the act of sitting. So next time you find yourself waiting for a table in a restaurant and see the sign, think of us." - Thomas Ibsen
