The Pira G2 is a contemporary reinterpretation of Olle Pira’s 1954 design classic, blending vintage brilliance with modern innovation. Originally crafted by the renowned master cabinet-maker Olle Pira, known for his traditional skills and groundbreaking achievements, the Pira G2 reflects a fusion of historical craftsmanship and today’s advanced technology. Designed by architect Anna von Schewen and industrial designer Björn Dahlström, this updated version is both an elegant and robust metallic masterpiece.
Its design features an interlocked series of joints and poles made from extruded aluminum, and shelves crafted from sheet steel with an integral ridge, allowing each shelf to support up to 50 kg and each section up to 350 kg.
The modular structure is engineered to be jointless and seamless, creating a unified piece that stands as a centerpiece in any space. The Pira G2 combines technical sophistication with a calming aesthetic, balancing its industrial strength with a touch of warmth and refinement.
