nanimarquina launches its first line of outdoor rugs specially designed to offer comfort for outdoor spaces.
The collection arises from the desire to transfer the warmth of interior spaces to the outside world. Areas where the common denominator is the absence of walls and delineated spots, in which the rug becomes the perfect resource to define and create comfortable outdoor environments.
Within the new nanimarquina outdoor concept, some of the brand's most successful collections are represented such as Tres Stripes and Tres Texture. A set of vibrant textures combined with different thicknesses and fibre blends, ensures an optimal aspect is maintained while bringing warmth to open-air environments. Fibers are replaced and homogenized by PET creating a new version.
Elena Marquina, known as Nani Marquina, was born in Barcelona in 1952. After studying Industrial Design at the Massana school there, she started to work with the architects Sellés-Marquina in 1973. In 1984, she made her first carpets, and decided to devote herself to design and set up her company, Nanimarquina, two years later. In 1988, some of her creations were already being exported to Germany and Japan. A year later, one of her collections was selected for the shop at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. Since 2006 Nani Marquina has been president of the ADP (Professional Designers' Association).
